The Purposeful Leader and The Accidental Speaker

We Had a Wonderful Gathering at Our Monthly PSASA Cape Chapter Meeting!

As always, our evening kicked off with a vibrant networking session followed by a delightful dinner and drinks. Once refreshed, we transitioned to the main meeting room where our Membership Officer, Chantelle Botha, officially started the proceedings. She introduced us to the intriguing word of the day, “Acnestis” (the part of your back between the shoulder blades, the area you cannot quite reach to scratch), highlighting the significance of mutual support. Our Cape Chapter President, Mariette Visser, set an inspiring tone for the night. Master of Ceremonies, Kyle Jantjies, then took over to ensure everything ran smoothly.

Member Showcase: We were moved by Claudio Chisté’s storytelling as he shared pivotal moments that defined his “Why”. These personal insights helped us connect with him on a deeper level.

Guest Speaker 1: Charlotte Kemp, outgoing President of the Global Speakers Federation (GSF) and past PSASA president, captivated us with her talk on “The Purposeful Leader”. She shared invaluable insights, advice, and learnings from her presidency year, making it an enriching experience for all.

Mariette Visser led an information session where she highlighted Bruce Wade, the Immediate Past President and recipient of the SA Educator Hall of Fame Award, and acknowledged other notable award recipients within our community.

Inspiring Session from Guest Speaker 2: André du Toit energized the room with his journey from a successful career as an actuary to becoming a professional speaker. His talk was filled with practical advice on transforming passion into a profession and monetizing public speaking. André’s transition journey provided valuable lessons on balancing dreams and ego.

Our evening concluded with more networking opportunities, enabling deeper connections and shared experiences.

Save the Date: Join us for our next meeting on July 15, 2024. Ensure to book your spot at PSASA Southern Africa.

We look forward to another amazing get-together filled with networking, learning, and inspiration!
