Turning Your Speaking Into a Business – PSASA Cape Chapter’s June Meetup

On Monday, 23 June, the PSASA Cape Chapter once again proved why it’s the place to be if you’re serious about speaking, and maybe even more serious about dinner.
We had a phenomenal turnout with more guests than members (which is exactly the kind of problem we like to have). The room was packed with energy, laughter, and the low hum of dreams being workshopped over roast chicken and conversation.
Presiding over the evening? Our MC, Claudi Chisté, former Chapter President and a man who can keep a room on track while making it laugh. He opened with warmth, good humour, and just enough structure to keep the evening rolling.
Then came the speakers. And wow, did they deliver.
First up: Alex Pryor with Crafting Compelling Offers. Equal parts strategic masterclass and practical bootcamp, Alex took us through the nuts and bolts of how to stop just “talking about what you do” and start creating offers people would be mad to refuse. With sharp insight, dry wit, and absolutely no fluff, Alex reminded us that value converts, and that speakers are also business owners (whether we admit it or not).
Next: Nina van Graan, bringing the unexpected magic of procurement to the stage with From Chaos to Confidence: How tendering can transform your business. If you’ve ever zoned out at the mention of RFPs, Nina flipped that script. Her session was empowering, practical, and left more than one speaker wondering if it might be time to finally take the leap into the public sector.
Both speakers brought different angles on the same core idea: turning what you say into something that sells. And judging by the conversations afterward, minds were turning and offers were already being reimagined.
We also welcomed new faces (hello, newcomers 👋), reconnected with familiar ones, and—as is Cape Chapter tradition—snapped the obligatory group selfie to prove it all really happened.
