Pretoria Chapter Meeting

Dear Colleagues, Members and Friends,

Dr. Ian Bratt has a doctorate in Chemistry from the University of Cambridge.  He spent over 30 years as a manager in the Precious Metals industry.  During that time, he developed an interest in business communication skills and honed his craft as member of Toastmasters. International.

Ian, “The speech Doctor”, has been a member of the PSASA since 2017 and is a past President of the Johannesburg Chapter.  He is also a certified World Class Speaking Coach.

Ian has reached the finals of PSASA’s Speaker Factor contest on two occasions (2019 and 2022).  He has also reached the final of the Toastmasters Southern African Championship of Public Speaking on five occasions, finally winning in 2023.  That makes him the current Southern African Champion of Public Speaking.

During this session, Ian will share some of the tips which he has learnt over many years about how to structure a keynote, using stories effectively and making your message memorable.

Ian has a passion for helping people, including Managers and Executives as well as the youth, to become better communicators.  Along with his son, Michael, Ian currently runs a company called Compass Presentations – “helping you navigate business in turbulent times”.
