Resilience for Speakers with Joni Peddie

Sunny Durban had the opportunity to laugh, learn and even enjoy a round of squats when we were visited by the oh-so-fabulous Joni Peddie during July’s chapter meeting. Joni serves as the Professional Speakers Association of Southern Africa’s vice president. She is also a well known behavioural strategist, with a keen focus on team performance and the much loved “FAB Quotient.” The night started off with Zanele Njapha, associate member and recent winner of the PSASA’s Speaker Factor Competition. She shared on the insights gained during her recent speaking engagement in the United Kingdom. Zanele’s segment gave attending members a true example of how the association is a platform for growth within one’s speaking business. Joni Peddie of Resilient People graced the stage to speak on resilience, health and wellbeing for speakers. Considering just how strenuous and draining this line of work can be, this talk came as a true answered prayer. Joni’s presentation was gripping, colourful and filled with nuggets around hydration, sugar and energy management for the 21st century professional. Joni begins by debunking health myths and then with a combination of neuroscience and trending proven routines and habits, she encouraged a healthy, productive and resilient lifestyle. The night ended in a networking session and the strengthening of ties for ongoing growth. For more information on Joni’s work, her website is: https://www.resilientpeople.co.za/
