The August PSASA Pretoria Chapter Meeting left me speechless. Which, for a speaker, is saying a lot.
Before the event ended, first-time visitor Confidence Seleme shared a video reel of the evening, created on the spot. His vibey creation captured the spirit of this event, the Pretoria Chapter, and the PSASA Tribe. It had me wishing I were there before I’d even left.
While every PSASA meeting is special, this was one for the books.
For that we can thank every person in the room, as well as Ilze Adams and Melanie Rothman, who are the Association’s anchors behind the scenes.
In particular, The Kintsugi Queen® Yoke Van Dam invited visitors from far outside our geographic and industry borders. Her empowering presentation was about how to pitch, and the record turnout proves she can deliver the goods. In fact, if Yoke does this again, we will be needing a bigger meeting space. Which is not at all a complaint.
Nick Smit, The Rebel Ninja, set every member of the audience up for an evening of connection, learning and fun. Like Nick always, does, he demonstrated his mastery as an Event Experience Architect. And the results showed. Both members and visitors agreed that they would not have built as many new relationships with such depth without Nick’s engaging activities throughout the evening.
For my own part, I invited the audience to consider a secret weapon most speakers forget to use: the PSASA Code of Ethics. Much more than a book of rules, the eight articles of the Code of Ethics can elevate a speaker’s professionalism and, accordingly, profits.
Pretoria Chapter President Kakanyo Pilane also celebrated the appointment of Chapter Deputy President Claire de Muelenaere and Member Officer Dithebe Menoe MBA, with a special welcome to the Chapter’s newest member, Nadira Adam.
As award-winning entrepreneur, speaker and author Alison Weihe remarked, an event like this really brings together change makers and allows them to connect meaningfully. With members and visitors from far and wide, this evening brought an exceptional chemistry with it.
