Hello again PSASA members and friends,

As I mentioned before, events and news can change in a heartbeat. Many members have been in contact with us regarding their concerns around the convention. The Executive Council has been hard at work and in near constant contact the last few days with attorneys, the Global Speakers Federation offices in Canada and other event professionals in order to make a well-considered and balanced decision regarding our annual convention on the 3rd to 5th of April.

We would absolutely not wish to place any of our members, speakers, or guests at risk of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and COVID-19 disease, and as such the Executive Council, with the help of the GSF and advice from attorneys, has made the call to postpone our national convention to later in the year, effectively taking the place of the midterm convention from the 2nd to 4th of October, 2020.

The AGM will still continue as planned on Sunday the 5th of April, albeit by Zoom.

The Speaker Factor competition and Awards Ceremony will be postponed until October.

Note that chapter meetings will continue as planned, as they are much smaller, of a shorter duration, and do not require air travel. Please continue exercising the recommendations as made in our last mailer to lower your risk of transmission.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter. Should you have queries, please direct them to me at president@psasouthernafrica.co.za

Please note that as PSASA has not been involved in the logistics of accommodation with Devonvale, individuals who have already booked accommodation need to contact Devonvale directly for their queries. To change your accommodation booking you need to contact Caitlin at reservations@devonvale.co.za. Devonvale will honour the deposits for a future booking.

Please rest assured that fees already paid for the convention have been ring-fenced and recorded.

Yours in speaking,

Ross Saunders
National President
