PSASA Gauteng Chapter Meeting: Thursday 10 March 2016
Theme: The Speaker Toolbox & All Things AV
Join us next week Thursday for another exciting chapter meeting! This is one meeting not be missed! We will be focusing on what could and should be in your speaker’s toolkit (the actual toolkit, from speakers, adaptors and cables) as well as handling the AV requirements for your presentation!
Our two speakers, Gavin Sharples and Stef du Plessis, will be sharing their insights for us. Gavin and Stef are as different as two people can be. As speakers, their styles are at opposite ends of the spectrum. And their business models are worlds apart.
Yet, they also have much on common. For starters, they are two of the most successful speakers ever to emerge from Africa. Both have been inducted into the Southern African Speaker Hall of Fame. They’ve each delivered 3,500+ paid engagements over the past twenty years. And they are the closest of friends. What they have most in common – and what they respect most in one another – is that they value family more than all else.
They know all there is to know about AV equipment, AV set-up, and working with professional AV teams. Between them, they have presented to audiences from 10 to 10,000 attendees; worked every type and size of venue imaginable; and faced every conceivable equipment malfunction that a speaker can ever be faced with.
Stef will give us the fast-track on ‘DIY’ AV: owning and carrying your own equipment, for those days when you are presenting to smaller groups. And Gavin will let you in on a lifetime’s worth of know-how for those days when you work with professional (and sometimes not-so-professional) AV teams.
You will learn more about ‘all things AV’ in an hour with these two guys than you ever thought possible. Whatever you do, do not miss this session!
