Jo’burg Chapter Meeting
21 Apr @ 19:00 - 21:00 SAST
Dear members, colleagues and friends
Know your niche. This is the theme of our April session, as we wind down from the Annual Convention. The lessons learned from the many excellent speakers at the event showed us that we need to know our niche to make an impact from the stage. For our next chapter meeting, we have invited as speakers two members of the Johannesburg Chapter who address niches that are diametric opposites, yet both speak on leadership. One talks on nature’s lessons while the other speaks on lessons from future technology.
Take a walking safari with Steve Johnson to a waterhole in the Chobe National Park in Botswana, sit under the shade of a large tree and experience the magic of his story telling. Listen to him describing how the various animals that come to drink at the waterhole each have their particular niche in our web-of-life – how our continent’s wonderful, rich diversity of wildlife mirrors many of the important issues we need to be aware of when contributing to the creation of our personal legacies.
Then travel into the future with mining engineer Bokang Kelepa, who draws on his experience both in the mining industry, and in running seminars on the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR). He will guide us through the leadership principles demanded of the 4IR.
These two sessions will provide you with examples of speakers who have found their niche, and may provide you with inspiration for introspection on pinpointing your niche.
Feedback from Annual Convention
Nikki Bush will lead an interactive session on the experiences and highlights of the PSASA annual convention held at the African Pride Irene Country Lodge last weekend.
