Jo’burg Chapter Meeting

23 Jun @ 18:30 - 21:00 SAST

Free for Members | Guests: R250.00

Dear members, colleagues, and friends

This month we focus on the third of 10 speakers’ competencies acknowledged by the global speaking community: “Stagecraft”.

Our speakers this week address the topic from each of the perspectives contained in that phrase. Paul will speak about movement: when, how, and why; and Gary will speak about moving from Zoom to in-person.

Paul du Toit – Stagecraft

In-person delivery seems to be back in vogue – for now anyhow. So how did speakers do it in the old days? They took to the podium and strutted their stuff!

This session focuses on stagecraft – why your movement is important, the one sense that makes all the difference, how to move, when to move and when to stand absolutely dead still. And of course, why…

Gary Tintinger – Stagecraft from Zoom to in-person

Gary Tintinger recently won the District 74 Toastmasters finals. In this session, Gary will unpack his Toastmasters Contest speech reviewing the use of stagecraft in an online presentation, and how to translate this same speech into an on-stage, in-person environment.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Warm regards

Arthur Goldstuck
Johannesburg Chapter President
