This month we focus on the second of 10 speakers’ competencies acknowledged by the global speaking community: “Closure and selling”.

Our speakers this week address the topic from each of the perspectives contained in that phrase. Eksteen de Waal, president of the PSA Netherlands, will focus on getting selling, while sales expert extraordinaire Shelley Walters hones in on closure of the deal.

Eksteen de Waal: Practical tools for selling

Eksteen says he is no intuitive sales guru, so he has had to learn the hard way: by making mistakes, getting advice and trying things out. He is not going to preach to you but will teach you what he does. This is a how-to session with a lot of interactivity: a journey of discovery we walk together. His goal is to give you practical tools to use now and in the future.

Shelley Walters: What closers do differently

From the late 1950s through to the late 1990s, not much changed in the world of sales methodologies. Sellers could rely on a methodology that could be applied and relied upon to deliver consistent sales results. Not so today. Unprecedented growth is driven by technological expansion, the commoditization of many products and services, the aftermath of the Pandemic and the radical intensification of competition in many industries have changed buying forever. Yet while many sellers struggle and lose, others are closing and winning sales, and doing so consistently. In this keynote, you will learn from Shelley Walters what the winners do differently, and why the rest find it so hard to compete.

These two sessions will provide you with examples of diverse strategies and styles in selling and closing.
