A big hello and welcome to PSASA members, friends and speaker colleagues
Please join us at our next regular meeting of the PSASA Johannesburg Chapter on Thursday, 21 May 2020 at 7 pm online (and diarise all future third Thursdays of the month NOW so that you don’t miss out!).
While we can’t wait to be together in person again, at our normal dinner venue in Sandton, we had a cracker of an online meeting last month with 98 people enjoying presentations by Dr Bill Price and Arthur Goldstuck.
The May meeting is not to be missed with two iconic presenters: Chester Missing AKA Conrad Koch and Douglas Kruger!
Chester will open with South Africa, Junk but with Status: an edu-taining business talk that will make you think and laugh about how we can create a better South Africa. We are on the verge of the worst recession of our lifetime, off the back of years of state capture and neglect, burdened by widespread unemployment and facing a global pandemic with an under-resourced healthcare system. Fun times. Businesses and teams need facts and serious upliftment. Chester Missing is the one analyst who can deliver both. An edu-taining business talk that will make you think and laugh about how we can create a better South Africa.
Chester Missing is a household name in South Africa, a double EMMY nominated political analyst, and he’s a puppet. His handler, Conrad Koch, is an internationally acclaimed social commentator, political satirist, and ventriloquist with a Master’s Degree in corporate anthropology. Together they create incisive learning experiences combining searing humour and social science, unpacking complex ideas in an accessible way.
Our own Douglas Kruger, CSP and Speaker Hall of Fame recipient and outstanding international speaker, will run the educational session entitled: Owning Your Space: How to create career-driving distinction’. Do you stand out by design? Is your speaking and training brand distinctive? Here’s the acid test: What are you uniquely known for – and sought out for – above all competitors? Douglas will unpack the importance of distinction, looking at specific ways to become what Joe Callaway calls ‘A Category of One.’ To provide practical references, Douglas will highlight relevant PSASA members in the session who are examples of speakers who have become industry experts in their own right. Come and learn from the master.
Douglas is the author of nine business books with Penguin, including his latest 50 Ways to Virus-proof Your Small Business that has been released worldwide. Learn more about Douglas at www.douglaskruger.com, or visit his YouTube channel, where he shares a valuable tip per day in the series ‘From Amateur to Expert.’
WHO CAN ATTEND?
You! If you are on this mailing list you can attend. Being a virtual meeting, you are welcome to invite guests to join you too BUT you and they must book. Without email addresses, we can’t send them the online meeting link. Please do not skip this step. We had a large number of people show up for last month’s meeting without booking and this put my team under huge pressure 20 minutes before the meeting with people asking for the link. We can run a smoother meeting if we know who is attending.
Where are you in your speaking career? We know there are stages in the development of your craft and your speaking business and we have three different masterminds to support you, our members. These mastermind classes, run by seasoned and respected speakers, will take you through the three stages of your speaking career. To join the Launch, Lift-Off or Luminary Speaker masterminds, please drop an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or check out the page on https://www.psasouthernafrica.co.za/speaker-classes/. Meetings are once a month.
For those in this community who are not members, you are very welcome to join our other masterminds including book writing, podcasting and the women speakers mastermind.
Looking forward to seeing many of you on 21 May at our next meeting. You will laugh, you will learn and you will be inspired to aspire to be more and to take action. Join us to enhance your speaker presence and purpose.
