Developing Social & Cultural Intelligence – Keys to Better Speaking Business
As speakers, we operate in a world of different races, cultures, religion and social settings. These differences can be a deterrent to business growth especially if we do not understand people who are not the same as us. Our current and potential clients also operate in this environment, and without the right knowledge and tools, will fall into the same limitations.
At the same time, the differences can be a huge opportunity to grow our businesses, provided we have the racial, social and cultural intelligence that allows us to connect with other people. As speakers, trainers, coaches and consultants, we are also in the best position to provide solutions to the challenges of gross inequality, racism, poverty and all other ills that intolerance produces. This month, we engage these issues and have an opportunity to be equipped with the right tools to face this challenge.
We have invited three powerful women speakers with expertise in Inclusion, Civic Activism and Business Leadership to share tips and tools for activating Social and Cultural Intelligence to do better business and co-create a better world.
With these new skills, we hope you’ll leave encouraged to embrace courageous conversations, refine your business solutions, and access diverse markets and remaining relevant in any circumstance.
Hani du Toit, Inclusion Specialist and Past President of our chapter will present an opening talk to our topic, followed by statements from Melene Rossouw, Attorney, Civic Activist Advocate and Obama Leadership Fellow, as well as Dr.Maureen Tong, Leadership Coach and President of Pretoria Chapter PSASA. We’ll then engage an open Q&A before using break out rooms for further discussion.
We invite you to bring your questions to the discussion with the intention of empowering our members to be courageous in addressing hot topics, with clients, colleagues and the businesses we serve as speakers, facilitators and coaches.
