Cape Chapter News
The Cape Chapter had an amazing meeting this month celebrating women – it being Women’s month, of course. We kicked off the meeting with one of our newest members, Sisi Nxumalo, as MC for the evening. This was followed by an extremely moving presentation by Pam Warren over Zoom from the UK. She spoke to us about her ordeal and trauma and how she ended up with the nickname “the Lady in a Mask”. (Pam was actually one of our closing speakers at the PSASA National Convention earlier this year).
Lesley Rochat, the Shark Warrior, gave an insightful presentation with lots of video and amazing pictures on her journey from a fear of sharks to diving naked amongst them. For newsletter you can insert a Read more here. Just to top our Women’s Day `theme off we had Lois Strachan doing a 5-minute slot on Living an Extraordinary Life” she spoke candidly to us about how she lost her sight and the emotional upheaval that it created for her. She also explained how it helped her unearth a new passion.
We are extremely excited about some upcoming events at our chapter. We have four workshops on the cards between now and February which will help our members get to the next level. All PSASA members from any chapter as well as friends are invited to participate. Look out for the adverts.
The Cape Chapter is moving along well with a truly dedicated committee making our meetings both fun and entertaining.
I would also like to take this opportunity to announce that Lois Strachan is the Cape Chapter’s new Vice President. Welcome on board Lois!”
Way to go Cape Chapter. It sounds like this meeting was a winner!
